# Uploading Your First BOM

## How to Upload and Scrub a BOM using Breadboard

##### **Step-By-Step Guide**

1. Go to the **Project Management** screen
2. Click the **Upload** button in the top right
3. Input Basic Information (Optional)  
     - Information such as customer, account owner, supplier profile, due date, description, attachments, and more. 
4. Click the **Next** Button
5. Upload a File 
     - Choose your BOM file or drag and drop. The file can be PDF, CSV, or Excel format. Select a sheet to import (If there are multiple sheets). Add Batch sizes. 
6. Click the **Continue** Button in the top right
7. If your are uploading a PDF, you will need to select the table(s) you want to pull in from the PDF. This ensures the correct data is being extracted for further processing. 
8. Select the **Header Row** 
     - This makes it easier to map the columns. You can proceed without a clear header, but it simplifies the mapping process. 
9. Map the Columns 
     - Map the columns to the appropriate Breadboard categories. 
     - Tip: For BOMs with alternates across rows, use the "Line Item / Number" category to collapse on a common value. 
     - Tip: Utilize the delimiter functionality or map multiple columns to MPN to handle alternates. 
     - Tip: Reach out for assistance if needed; Breadboard is designed to handle most scenarios effectively.
